Slow Cooked Baby Back Ribs with Maureen Petrosky

RecipeOfTheWeekBanner

These fun finger foods make excellent nibbles for a holiday soiree, and are super easy to make.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 2 pounds pork loin back ribs (24 to 26 ribs), sawed in half by your butcher

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 18-ounce bottle hickory-flavored barbeque sauce

STEPS:

  1. Preheat broiler.

  2. Sprinkle both sides of ribs with the salt and pepper.

  3. Place ribs on a wire rack on a large baking sheet.

  4. Broil ribs, bone side down, for 15 minutes.

  5. Remove from broiler.

  6. Carefully cut ribs into single-rib-portions (use tongs to hold steady).

  7. Place onion slices in the bottom of a 3 ½ to 4-quart slow cooker.

  8. Add ribs. Pour barbeque sauce over ribs.

  9. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 4 hours or on high-heat setting for 2 hours. If desired, serve with onion slices.

MAKES 24 to 28 pieces

Thanks, Maureen!
